Ministries

A list of ministries in our church to help with the fulfillment of God's mission, which is to bring people to Christ.

Educational Ministries

NEW! Keenager's Ministry (Senior Saints)

Not Teenagers but Kenagers (ages 55 & up), the senior saints come together for fellowship & Bible study monthly to discuss Spiritual disciplines for the Christian life. Pastor Lewis leads this discussion with the quest for godliness including Scripture reading, prayer, worship, stewardship, & even lunch. If you need a ride, please contact the church office.

NEW! M.E.M. (Men Empowering Men)

Calling all men & young men to come out every first Saturday of the month -for this is a time of Bible study & fellowship which will bless each & every family. Join in as we study “The Samson Syndrome.” Let’s see what we can learn from the “baddest” man in the Bible! Everybody has some “Samson” in them. The men study the downside of manly strength, admitting mistakes, & being smart enough to profit from shortcomings & strong enough to correct them. Find out why many “strong” men tend to disregard boundaries, struggle with lust, ignore good advice, break rules, have big egos, & much more. Don’t miss M.E.M.

Single's Ministry

Calling all Singles! God has given Pastor Lewis a word for all single individuals. How do you know that  the person in your life is the right one for you? God has the answer to living single in a couple's world.

Marriage Ministry

This ministry is specific to but not restricted to married couples. Members meet for Bible Study and teachings on how to maintain healthy christian relationships and fellow activities including bowling nights.  Pastor has always taught that to have a strong church is to have health marriages.  Too many marriages end when someone says, "I've fallen out of love wth you" or "I don't love you anymore". Let's come and find out how to "fireproof" our marriage.  All married and soon-to-be married couples are invited to meet at the church for fellowship and instruction. Let us grow together as we strengthen our walk with God!

Coordinator(s): Pastor Victor S. Lewis, Sr. & Dec. Elvin Brown

"Learning of Him"/Sunday School

Another innovation that has taken affect at the People’s Church is the exchange of “Sunday School” for the aptly-named “Learning of Him Hour”. The Multimedia staff sits down with Pastor Lewis to gather the scoop on the name change. “Learning of Him is what Jesus told His followers to do & is the mission of the church”, states Pastor Lewis. “Jesus never told us to go to Sunday School, but to learn of Him (Acts 1:1). We are to continue the things that Jesus began: both teaching & doing.  Jesus spent 3 years with His followers for them to employ His way that the church should be operated”. Every Sunday, People’s focuses on Jesus through standard lessons & break-out classes that strengthen the 4 F’s: Faith, Family, Finances, & Fitness. “Learning of Him” is every Sunday from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. The “ex-Sunday School” features several facilitators who  present consistent Bible lessons & special presentations that build a firm faith foundation in the Word of God. So come out & "Learn of Him!"

Coordinator(s): Lisa Orum-Hughes, Director of Christian Education

Through classes & biannually new member’s socials, this ministry successfully orientates every new member into become a comfortable member & then a mature saint & minister in Christ.

Decision Time Counselors

Accepting God’s call to salvation & accepting membership at a specific church is only the first step in living the life that God would have us to live. D.T. counselors make that “walk to salvation” less nerve-racking as they stand in the aisles & actively encourage those who are lost or in search of a church home to join the People’s Church. D.T. counselors walk with those who are called to join the church during the invitation to Christian discipleship. After, one has accepted the call to join PMBC, the D.T. counselors then answer any questions that he or she may have & provide vital information about this all-so-crucial decision that he or she has made & salvation.
