Reverend Victor Sinclair Lewis, Sr.
Reverend Victor Sinclair Lewis was born on April 20, 1979 to Singleton Lewis, Jr. and Vickie Lewis in Birmingham, AL. He is the middle child of six children. Married to Tamara L. Lewis (Lady) and they are the proud parents of one son Victor Sinclair Lewis Jr. In the fall of 1989, Reverend Lewis accepted his call into the gospel ministry and was licensed to preach in January 1993 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairfield, AL. under his uncle the late Dr. R.E. Avery.
Reverend Lewis completed his undergraduate work in 2003, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a minor in Music from Miles College. He graduated from Ensley High School in 1998. His extended studies include the Birmingham Easonian Baptist Bible College, Beeson Pastors School (Beeson Divinity School), and Faith Seminary in Theological Studies. In Spring 2007 he completed his Masters degree from Birmingham Theological Seminary in Pastoral Leadership Concentration and Christian Education. Pastor Lewis has started his Doctoral work of Philosophy in Pastoral Ministry at Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana and D. Min at Birmingham Theological Seminary. His passion is to go back to school to complete an MBA.
At the age of 21, God called him to Senior Pastor the Historic 32nd Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama approximately 176 members where added and relinquishing over $200,000 of debt all the same time starting new ministries. All Glory to God! In June 2007, Reverend Lewis answered the call to the Senior Pastor position of The Friendship Baptist Church “The Church of Hope” Merced, California. Over 100 people have been saved throughout the Word God has given him and over $50,000 of debt cleared the church! In July 2008, God lead Reverend Lewis to People’s Missionary Baptist Church, Montgomery, Alabama where God has grown the church numerically, financially, staff, ministry, and spiritually. His vision for the Church is to worship our Lord, give hope, and instruct all persons that they would be saved and equipped to become disciples of Jesus Christ.
God has blessed Reverend Lewis to preach throughout the United States of America. His teachings extends into the community including Raising the Standards in Birmingham public school systems, Peace Baptist District Association, Alabama State Missionary Convention, and the National Baptist Convention USA and NBC of America, Inc. he is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi (National Band Fraternity), Birmingham Business Club, and 1st Northern Central Baptist Association of California.
